HMI 開発ツール「CGI Studio」を提供しているカンデラは、エッジコンピューティングのグローバルリーダーであるADLINK Technology社（以下：ADLINK社　台北/台湾）とパートナーシップを締結しました。これにより、IoT（Internet of Things: モノのインターネット）市場において、より大規模で国際的な顧客のニーズに応えることが可能になります。

 カンデラとADLINK社は協働で、「CGI Studio」で実装された洗濯機ディスプレイ用の多言語に対応したフルハイビジョンのフルデジタル2D/3Dグラフィカルユーザーインターフェイス（GUI）を実現しました。

 

「CGI Studio」は、直感的で拡張性が高く、かつハードウェアに依存しないHMIデザインツールで、車載分野をはじめとするその他多くの産業分野において、あらゆる種類の革新的でカスタマイズ可能な2D/3DのHMI開発が可能です。

 

このフルデジタル2D/3Dの革新的な洗濯機用GUIは、「CGI Studio」の特徴を最大限に活かしたHMIソリューションです。スタートアップメニューと洗濯プログラムは3Dアニメーションで、プログレスバーと時間表示は2Dアニメーションで表示され、そのすべてがフルハイビジョンで、かつ多言語に対応しています。

このGUIは、Rockchip社製SoC（System on Chip）「PX30」とAndroid™ 64bit OSを搭載したADLINK社製のIoTプロトタイピングプラットフォーム「I-Pi SMARC PX30」上で動作しています。このプラットフォームは、プロダクショングレードのコンポーネントをはじめ、ソフトウェアのポータビリティや、Raspberry Piのような柔軟性とアップグレード性を兼ね備えており、概念実証のための設計に適した「LEC-PX30 SMARC」モジュールがベースになっています。このモジュールでは、ETT（拡張温度試験）による高い信頼性と10年以上の長期可用性を備えた産業グレード「SKU」も用意されています。

Linz, Austria / Taipei, Taiwan – Candera, a leading provider of HMI design tools and ADLINK Technology Inc., a global leader in edge computing, are announcing their cooperation. It is first brought to life in a fully digital 2D/3D washing machine GUI in full HD resolution with multi-language support, addressing the goal of both companies to meet the needs of large international customers in the IoT market.

Candera’s user-friendly, no-coding HMI design tool CGI Studio is a highly intuitive, scalable and hardware independent HMI design tool. It allows the development of innovative and customizable embedded GUI solutions of all kinds for the automotive area, industry and home appliances market. CGI Studio provides multi language support, includes ready-to-use HMI controls and the Candera Smart Importer for instant combination of designs with logic in only a few clicks. The result are scenes that not only feature pin sharp graphics but can also support 2D and 3D elements and animations.

 

In a first project with ADLINK – an innovative, fully digital 2D/3D washing machine GUI – the Candera team was able to highlight the advantages of CGI Studio: A 3D start-up and washing-program animations were developed as well as a 2D progress-bar and time animations – both self-evidently in full HD resolution and with multi language support. The goal for Candera as well as ADLINK is always to provide their customers with products they can easily implement world-wide.

 

The GUI runs on ADLINK’s I-Pi SMARC with Rockchip PX30 SoC and Android 64bit OS. ADLINK offers the I-Pi SMARC PX30 ready-to-go IoT prototyping platform based on the LEC-PX30 SMARC module, which combines production-grade components, software portability, and Raspberry Pi-like flexibility and upgradability for proof-of-concept designs. The modules are also available in industrial-grade SKUs with ETT and longevity of over 10 years.

今回１位を受賞した「Smart Importer」は、AI 検出アルゴリズムテクノロジーに基づいており、Adobe® Photoshop や Sketch、Axure® RP などでデザインした UI アートワークを「CGI Studio」にインポートすることで、各パーツに自動的に機能を追加することが可能です。プログラミングをすることなく、どなたでもフル機能を備えた   HMI を簡単に作成できます。

 

HMI   構成プロセスを可能な限り簡素化することで、作業時間を大幅に節約し、デザイナーの作業効率の向上に繋げることができます。

カンデラ独自の比較調査によると、「Smart   Importer」を使用することで、プロトタイプの開発期間は最大   75%、HMI 開発プロセス期間は約 40%短縮されることが実証されています。

Candera and MyScript have integrated MyScript’s award-winning Handwriting recognition technology into Candera’s CGI Studio HMI design tool.

 

LINZ, AUSTRIA; NANTES, FRANCE – July 19, 2022 – Candera and MyScript have joined forces to offer an easy integration of their leading technologies. The companies collaborated to provide a pre-integration of Candera’s CGI Studio HMI design tool with MyScript’s pioneering handwriting recognition engine. This allows Candera and MyScript customers to benefit from an “out of the box” solution and enjoy the latest innovations from both companies.

MyScript provides CGI Studio with an innovative input method that reduces driver distraction

As an in-car input method for touch-enabled screens, handwriting recognition has been shown to reduce driver distraction, with over 20 million cars on the road already integrating MyScript technology.

Handwriting recognition allows drivers to scribble commands on the screen of their vehicle’s multimedia system without taking their eyes from the road. This method has been tested and validated in the world’s most demanding regulatory environments, from the USA and Europe to Japan.

In addition,  MyScript’s technology is unique because it adapts to the user, rather than requiring the user to adapt to it. This reduces the cognitive load on the driver; there is no need to think about or look at the written inputs to achieve accurate results.

Drivers can write as they wish: letter by letter, in cursive or print, and even by superimposing characters and words on top of each other. MyScript’s technology performs the “magic trick” of transforming drivers’ scribbles into intelligible words – and the actions to which they refer.
